The cover reveal for a new novel is one of the most fun and exciting stepping stones on the journey toward publication.
That time is approaching for my young adult fantasy novel, The Appearance of Power.
I have actually had the cover for a number of months and had intended to reveal it a little closer to the actual publication date in 2026 – which I haven’t even picked yet.
I have been waiting because I would like to rapid release all three books in the series within 3-12 months of one another. Enter the problem. I am not the fastest writer in the world. There are a lot of writers now who can write and release a new book in just a few months. I celebrate those writers, but that may be a stretch for me – at least until I can get into a better writing groove.
I recently retired to write full time, but it has been a learning curve on how to reallocate my time. I think I will get there, and be able to schedule more writing time, but it has been slow going so far.
But back to the cover reveal. I am doing a book event this weekend where I can talk about my book and generate some interest from readers. What is the best way to do that? With a book blurb and a cover.
So even though publication is months away, it is time to reveal the cover. It doesn’t seem fair for just readers at this event get to see it, when I have had people following my journey for months. That means I am going to reveal it to everyone on Saturday.
