I promised the cover reveal today, and here it is. The Appearance of Power will be out some time in 2026, but you can get a feel for the book now, with this cover. I hope it evokes a YA Fantasy set in a medieval style guild with mages.
The Cover Collection made this for me, and I couldn’t be happier. I had originally planned it to be just an inspiration cover with a final cover coming later, but the response from the few people who got sneak peaks early made me change my mind. Well, and I love it too. The font is pretty spectacular and the image is superb.
The cover got its first test today at the book fair I participated in. I had a lot of people stop by and learn more about the book solely based on the look of this cover.
It fits the book perfectly. Much of the book is set in the Mages Guild, and these gates look exactly as I’d imagine the ones leading from the guild into the town would look. Not to mention the fact that my main character wears a cloak with the hood pulled down frequently to hide his likeness to his father. A hooded figure on the cover is a bonus.
